What will you get during your stay at Brook Hill?

Buddy

Upon arrival, every student visitor will meet a 'buddy' from their year group. The buddy is there to help new students settle in, show them around, share information about the school and school life, explain about timetables and lessons, to keep in touch, and to answer questions. In short, a buddy is always there for their buddy!

Placement tests

Visiting students have the option of sitting an English language test as well as other Cambridge tests on various subjects of interest. This is to help assess your level and find your best fit!

School lessons and school life

Visiting students will get to experience everyday life at Brook Hill and will be included in a full day's activities. This means attending lessons with the rest of their classmates, getting to know their class teacher / tutor, having lunch in the school canteen, studying in the library, walks around campus and taking part in scheduled events (e.g. sports, games, seasonal events and charity work). Students in secondary school also have the option to attend lessons in those subjects they are most interested in, for example Media Studies!

Professional orientation and University Guide

Secondary students that visit Brook Hill will have a chance to find out more about our Professional Orientation Service and University Guide. We care about our students' future and want to give them the best chance of success! Based on a student's desires, aspirations, and knowledge level, our School Counselor helps them to choose appropriate subjects at Brook Hill and offers help and advice on the right university to continue their education. Our counsellor also helps them through the university application process. This support is provided through CV workshops, personal statement workshops, and much more.

Meeting with parents

Our School Counselor and relevant Head of Department will meet with parents to give a more detailed presentation of the school, the Cambridge programme and address any questions you may have

Report to parents at the end of the free period

Each teacher will provide written feedback about the student's level of knowledge, what they are good at, and where to improve if needed. This will be summarized in a report and sent to parents.
